The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”
Matthew 13:44
Are you committed?
Jesus tells this parable to show what true commitment is. The most important thing in life is to understand that Jesus is the treasure. That if we give up everything else that we hold dear for Him, we will find a joy and treasure that far surpasses what we might imagine a good life to be. But this is easier said than done. It is extremely difficult to give up all of these things that we hold as important. Jesus is asking us, “Are we committed to Him?” If we are willing to give up everything else, we will gain a far greater life and afterlife than we could possibly have otherwise. And we will find out that we can have many of these things that we didn’t want to let go of, too. That in reality, we gave up little to nothing.
This same principle is true in all of life. To really receive value and transformation in any area of our life, we must be willing to give something up. Otherwise, it is impossible to receive our reward. The Kingdom Calling process is transformational, but only works if you give of yourself to make this transformation happen. There is a tuition that must be paid. It includes time and money. Upon completion, you will look back and realize that it wasn’t that much time or money, but this never appears to be the case from the outset.
We teach people to be powerful stewards of their resources as the bible tells us we must be over and over again. This includes how God has made them and in which direction He is leading them. And it includes wisdom and opportunities in personal economics so that as you manage the little things you have, you are given much, and in turn you are a powerful tool for God to use in bringing “on Earth as it is in Heaven.”
So, are you committed?
