On this morning we gathered to worship with the discipleship group of Beit Immanuel. But instead of them praying for a country or people as they had every other day, they prayed for the arts. It’s an area that large sections of the Church have historically turned their backs on, which has left many whom God made artistic feeling like they didn’t belong. Kara is, herself, an actress , and as we were praying, she prayed into this situation as one of the participants. The owner of the house/hostel, David Lazarus, who was also the leader of the group, turned our time of general prayer into a time of laying on hands and anointing Kara in this area.
He instructed me as her fiancé to bless her with my support and protection as she endeavors in this area so currently controlled by the enemy. It’s hard to describe, but this was a very special time for my soon to be bride and I!
We spent the day driving to various cities, praying over these areas and meeting with the Believers. This is an open forum and so I don’t want to get into the specific ways God shows that this will happen, but the scriptures reveal how the Jews will come back to the Lord after a long time away. Let’s look at a few of the more general prophecies:
God foretold through many of the prophets that the Jews would be cast to the far corners of the world. Ezekiel saw dry bones (Ezekial 37) and Isaiah saw the Holy seed people of Israel being cut off into a stump in the land along with the cities lying ruined and without inhabitants. (Isaiah 6:13)
God then foretold that in the end He would bring them back home. One of these is in Jeremiah: 24 ” ‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 38 as numerous as the flocks for offerings at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts. So will the ruined cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” (Jeremiah 36:24,27,38)
Jeremiah even specifically mentioned the land of the north as being a place many would return from (Jeremiah 23:7-8). The Jews have come back from all the nations of the earth, but today, approximately 1 in 7 of the Jews of Israel come from Russia (Moscow is due north of Israel).
Isaiah even prophecied that the Jews would be flying back to The Land 2600 years ago! (Isaiah 60:8) How could he possibly imagine an airplane that long ago? Well, he couldn’t but God knew exactly what would happen.
Surely, after the Jews had been given a covenant promise by God and then had been allowed to suffer for thousands of years more than any other people, God wouldn’t leave them without the Messiah He had always promised them, would He?
