The Coming Storm Daniel Revelation

What is in store for America?
What is in store for America?

I’ve sensed the Lord leading us to put on two events about the Coming Economic Storm – which you can get more information about through our newsletter here.

I’ve felt His direction based primarily on three things.  The first is a growing sense from the Lord to financially prepare for very hard times.  Secondly, is a growing urgency among financial minds that I respect (who are not Christians) who believe that our country is about to enter financial calamities worse than the Great Depression.  Finally, people I believe to be more mature than me in the Lord have been getting very definitive words from God that seriously hard economic times are coming like none of us alive today in the United States can imagine. Based on these three things, I’ve received a strong message to move forward and get the word out to those who love the Lord, so we scheduled and have invited people to attend.

Sunday my Heavenly Father made this all much more clear, direct, and personal for me.

I’m going to spend a few posts sharing with you what the Lord shared with me Sunday as I examined the scriptures.  He took me into Daniel and had me spend a few hours to show me the similarities between the times of Nebuchadnezzar and today’s time in our country.  I’m sorry that this message starts out somewhat grim, but it is what it is.  The good news, though, is that there is a very powerful opportunity that comes with this message for you to grow deeper in your walk with the Lord than you’ve ever imagined.  That is the promise and the silver lining.  I hope you’ll stick with me as we get to that point.

Daniel neatly summed up what happened to Nebuchadnezzar’s son when he told him, “O king, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor. 19 Because of the high position he gave to him, all the peoples and nations and men of every language dreaded and feared Nebuchadnezzar. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled. 20 But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory.” (Daniel 5:18-20)

God made Nebuchadnezzar and his country the most powerful in the world.  He used him to humble and draw back to Him His covenant people to Israel and He provided his court with the most gifted prophets of that time.

Yet, after all God had given him, instead of being humbled, thankful, and full of awe at His goodness, Nebuchadnezzar was filled with pride and arrogance even ignoring God when He spoke directly to him in dreams interpreted by the prophet who had proven himself faithful and accurate. He said, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?” (Daniel 4:30)

And so the same Lord who gave, took away.  Have you noticed our country turning more and more away from God?  Among Americans who still call themselves Christians, do you think they think of themselves first as Citizens of the Kingdom of God or of the United States of America?  Do you think there will be consequences for our country which God has previously blessed so much?

We’ll spend the next few days demonstrating some of the lessons which can be learned from Daniel which apply to today.  By the way, if you’d like more information about this coming storm, sign up for the newsletter here and it will be sent to you.  You can come to one of the two events by signing up here.
