What Does the Vision of the Great Tree Being Cut to the Stump Have to do with Today?

We spoke yesterday about the specific revelation given to me about the Coming Economic Storm about to hit America.  You can receive a much more detailed economic description of it immediately by signing up for our free newsletter here.

In this series, we’re looking at what is really happening – spiritually.  Today, let’s look at the great tree dream Nebuchadnezzar had and what it means for us in the United States today. (The whole world will feel the effects of this, but this is a word particularly for America.)

First, let’s look at the dream:

“These are the visions I saw while lying in my bed: I looked, and there before me stood a tree in the middle of the land. Its height was enormous. 11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched the sky; it was visible to the ends of the earth. 12 Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit abundant, and on it was food for all. Under it the beasts of the field found shelter, and the birds of the air lived in its branches; from it every creature was fed.”

13 “In the visions I saw while lying in my bed, I looked, and there before me was a messenger, a holy one, coming down from heaven. 14 He called in a loud voice: ‘Cut down the tree and trim off its branches; strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee from under it and the birds from its branches. 15 But let the stump and its roots, bound with iron and bronze, remain in the ground, in the grass of the field.

” ‘Let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let him live with the animals among the plants of the earth. 16 Let his mind be changed from that of a man and let him be given the mind of an animal, till seven times pass by for him.”

17 ” ‘The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men.’” (Daniel 4:10-17)

Daniel then interpreted the dream, so we will select a few scriptures to capture his meaning, but if you click on Daniel 4 you can read the whole chapter.  Daniel explained:

“22 you, O king, are that tree! You have become great and strong; your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky, and your dominion extends to distant parts of the earth.” (Daniel 4:22)  24 “This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree the Most High has issued against my lord the king: 25 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like cattle and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes. 26 The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules. 27 Therefore, O king, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue.” (Daniel 4:24-27)

As we said yesterday, Nebuchadnezzar was too full of pride and arrogance to repent at the word of the Lord.  What came next is crucial to this discussion:

31 The words were still on his lips when a voice came from heaven, “This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you. 32 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like cattle. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes.” (Daniel 4:31-32)

God had given Nebuchadnezzar the “Royal Authority” to lead the world of men.  This doesn’t mean that he was literally the king of every single person and nation, because he wasn’t.  But he was so powerful that no nation could stand before him.  Every nation had to submit to him should they cross his path.

Does this sound like any particular nation in the world today?

The United States is really the only country in the world formed by groups of people wanting a place to worship the Lord in freedom and in earnest and was founded on those principles.  God flourished this country.  And in the last many decades, we have been filled with hubris and turned more to our own way instead of God’s way.  God granted us His royal authority for a time.  Now, He’s removing it.

So what does “you will be driven away from people” and “you will live with the wild animals” and “you will eat grass like cattle” translate to today for a nation of people?  I don’t know exactly.  But I believe the days to come are going to be chaotic and difficult times.  I believe the craziness we are about to experience will be a lot more than just financial/economic, but that is a focus here, so we speak in mostly financial terms.   But I believe there will be all sorts of craziness in the physical world and in other ways.

Finally, this word to Nebuchadnezzar was given with a promise of redemption and there is a beautiful word of redemption for us to in this message.  This will be a glorious time for those who can and do truly seek and follow the Lord when everything around them is crazy.  We’ll begin speaking about that tomorrow.  By the way, if you’d like more information about this coming storm, sign up for the newsletter here and it will be sent to you.  You can come to one of the two events by signing up here.
