Conclusion: Bearing the Image & Likeness of God

As we conclude our series on the image and likeness of God, it’s noteworthy to point out that this is a strange time.  You have me and others the Lord has put in this position out there pleading for people to prepare themselves because a new season is around the corner.  In fact, it has already begun, but it cannot be seen with our eyes yet.  Nothing dramatic seems to be happening, although certainly some strange big things have occurred.  A picture of how God works came to me and I want to share it through history.

When God had Moses make the Tabernacle, He gave very specific instructions.  When you read through them they are incredibly boring because the details are monotonous.  But when the last detail of His instructions were complete, the Glory of the Lord fell and filled that place!

When we look at the building of the Temple, it is the same story.  When we look at the consecration of Aaron and his sons, it is the exact same story.

Even Jesus’ disciples, who were a part of Jesus’ ministry and got to be taught by Him after He rose from the dead, were clueless about what was about to happen on Shavuot (Pentecost).  But they were willing.  They were called.  And at the right time, they were filled with the glory of His Spirit!

God is preparing those who are truly His people: those who have pure hearts for Him and put Him ahead of everything else in life.  He is working out small things within their lives.  They might seem like tedious details.  It might be difficult to see how these details impact the greater purposes of God.  But these are things that must be worked out in order to bring each one into the place where he can house the Glory of God and take on His likeness.  This day is much closer than it seems!
